So I've been looking into buying this laptop for a while now (I'm looking at either the i5 ($850) or i7 model ($999)): http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/laptops-2-in-1s/xps-13-9360-laptop/spd/xps-13-9360-laptop?~ck=bt
I chose this laptop in part because there's a lot of support for it on tonymacx86 via this guide (which doesn't look too bad): https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-dell-xps-13-9360-on-macos-sierra-10-12-x-lts-long-term-support-guide.213141/
Would you say this laptop is worth hackintoshing? I have created a successful Sierra desktop last year (just from a general Hackintosh guide, I didn't follow a step-by-step guide for a specific model), but I'm worried that hackintoshing this laptop could be significantly harder, even with the thorough guide online. Worst case scenario, I'll just revert back to Windows or run a linux distro. However, I am intending to replace my old Macbook Air with this machine and am more accustomed to using Mac OS for school work (though I do use Windows/Ubuntu occasionally).
So what's your thoughts? Also, would you rather go for the i5 or i7 model (the i7 model is labelled as an 8550u, but apparently it's still listed as a Kaby Lake processor, so I don't think that would effect my decisions). I'm mostly going to use this for programming, school work and maybe some Logic Pro X.
Edit: There's an $850 i5 9360 that isn't listed in the original link
