Nvidia 960 Reporting as an AMD GPU in High Sierra.

Just did an install of 10.13.3 (17D47) on an old Dell OptiPlex I picked up not too long ago and I've paired it with a 960 since it's a Sandy Bridge i7-2600 and the iGPU isn't supported. The problem is, macOS is seeing it as an AMD 5450 (or similar) and the Nvidia web drivers aren't running even though it's installed and checked in the top bar.

I've checked forums and searched online but none of the results are even remotely similar to my problem just black screens, update warnings, compatibility lists, etc... I don't know what to do other than ask here and maybe the tonymac forums for help.

System specs:

  1. Dell OptiPlex 990 SFF (Upgraded PSU and swapped case)
  2. i7-2600
  3. MSI 960 Twin Frozr 2GB
  4. 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3 dual channel
  5. 120GB SSD (APFS)
