my hackintosh works fine and resolution in Sierra works as expected, but in the clover boot loader and the apple logo with progress bar is at 1024x768 which it also says in info in the boot loader.
in clover configuratior there is a section gui/screenres. but it really doesn't do anything.

clover config. version 4.60.3.4 vibrant edition
