Check backup OS version

So, I updated to High Sierra recently, and was thinking of reverting back to Sierra with a clean install. Just wanted to know if anyone would be able to tell me a way to read a backup I made of a backup I made of my old sierra boot so that I know which version of Sierra it was -- reason being , because that particular version of Sierra was super stable. Anyway thanks for the help
