Question about turning my current pc into a hackintosh.

Hey,

I've been running windows 10 on a pc I built for a few months now, and am starting to looking into making it a hackintosh. My question is: do I need to reset my SSD that boots windows if I plan on booting from a separate drive? Is there a way to preserve my system the way it is now, while also having the ability to boot into Mac OS.
