So I was working on this the whole weekend, and I'm at work away from my computer, but I will give as much detail that I can think about. If you have questions, please let me know.
- i7-3770 (iGPU Intel HD4000)
- Asus P8B75-M
- 16GB RAM
- XFX R7-250X
So if I run the computer with the iGPU as primary, then the computer boots up just fine. Everything works as intended, but I need the 250X so that I can run 4K@60Hz.
When I run the 250X, I am able to install Sierra, but when I boot, I get these messages, with the last one (so someone in the future can search for this):
IOConsoleUsers: gIOLockScreenState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0
The only Google searching I could find relate to iGPU problems, so I guess I've having the exact opposite?
I've tried:
- Upgrading BIOS
- Using ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte VBIOS files
- Safe mode, single user mode
- WhateverGreen with radpg=15 and -lilubetaall boot flags
- Booting off USB-only or straight from HDD
- Replacing 250X with Quadro 410 to check PCI-E port (Quadro works perfect)
- Changing all GPU-related options on my BIOS.
So if anyone has any ideas or hints, I would appreciate it.
