I'm finsihed building my iMac 18,3 spec Hackintosh (ThermalTake Level 10 GTS White, MSI Mortar Arctic H270m, Core i7 7700k, 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 2400 8GBx2 White, 2x SanDisk Ultra 3D SSD 512GB, Seagate 3TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb).
As title says, I'm trying to decide between AMD and Nvidia for graphics. I'm dual-booting with Windows to play games, and the cards run almost identical benchmarks, and almost the same price (about $400).
The iMac 18,3 uses Radeon Pro 580 (4GB), and I'm wondering if my Hackintosh will just automatically recognise an RX 580 8GB upon installation, or should I go with the tried and true Nvidia route?
I could also save another pay period and get an XFX Vega 56, which of course would be supported as an add-in card, but my understanding is Vega cards aren't necessarily great for gaming on the Windows side, at least cost/performance-wise.
