I was getting ready for a Sierra -> High Sierra upgrade and made a CCC clone of my SSD. Was cloning the USB boot device and all the sudden it stopped booting.
I used a USB to load Clover and pick what device I want to boot to. The devices won't boot solo (without Clover) and I never installed Clover to the SSD.
So I would always boot to the USB -> Clover -> OSX Sierra
The SSD is still intact, the USB just doesn't boot anymore. It should have all the info, it's just not a bootable device.
This should have nothing to do with OSX because it's before OSX loads, but the format of the USB is not being seen by Windows.
I have 2 computers, Win7 and Vista, several SSDs and USBs... I just need to make a USB bootable. I think it's just the MBR (Master Boot Record) that's missing.
When I was in CCC, it was warning me the the USB didn't have a partition, that's when things fell apart.
Q. How can I make a USB bootable? This was done under OSX, so Windows doesn't see it.
I understand that I never finished the process of installing everything and you're not supposed to boot from the USB, but I was planning an upgrade soon. Now I need to get Sierra booting so I can install High Sierra.
Thanks for any help.
