Does a MacBook Pro actually perform better? or is it just me?

Been building hackintoshs' since Snow Leopard times, finally upgraded my main rig to the 8th gen 6-core i7 CPUs.

With an RX 580 video card, the usual "video editing setup."

But the weird thing is, the computer still cant really edit GH5 4k 10-bit videos real time. At first I thought maybe technology just hasn't caught up yet, but after trying to edit with my friend's new 6 core 15 inch MacBook Pro, the laptop seemed to be able to do it in real time no problem?

Hope you guys would be able to help me out a bit haha!

Other than not being able to edit GH5 4k videos real time, the computer runs super smooth, and is very stable.
