Not a true hackintosh question but ive been lurking here for a bit and wasnt sure where else I could ask.
Its a mid-2010 imac with an i7 processor. Id like to salvage the cpu but I'm confused. Its still a decent cpu and depending on what caused the imac to die on me, id like to see if there are motherboard options and build a tower computer using some of the parts.
Did apple use a special socket for the cpu or is it a standard Intel sock for the time frame? how do I find out what socket this processor has?
