First time poster here! I have a stock standard HP 15-bs015dx with the below specs:
-i5 7200u -16GB DDR4 2666mHz RAM (separate 8gb cards from different suppliers -5400rpm standard 1TB HDD -Intel HD 620 onboard graphics
I am looking to upgrade the HDD to a 1tb SSD, and when I do this I plan on making the laptop a hackintosh.. but my biggest gripe is that I have never done this before, and from my research it looks to be a complicated thing to do where lots can go wrong. In my defense I am competent at my troubleshooting with computers, being able to know what to google for to solve most problems I’ve come across with computing, but I don’t have experience with making a hackintosh and don’t want to make a hackintosh if I might brick the system...
The reason I want to do this is because I work with media intensive applications, a lot of video and audio work, and the i5 is not cutting it for me. Right now though I can’t afford another computer, sort of in a limbo state, so this system will have to do. I am hoping the hackintosh is going to let me get more usability out of the system/hardware (seeing as it will basically have same specs as a mid2017 13” MacBook Pro)
Looking forward to the thoughts of the community here!
