Hello people of the r/hackintosh subreddit!
I've been using a 2012 Macbook Pro (Non-retina) for a few years now, and just recently got my hands on a fairly decent desktop PC that I'm looking to use as a Hackintosh system. I've just gotten so used to using Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro that transitioning back to windows (I used to be a die-hard PC user) has gotten a bit finicky.
I already have cl0ver on a flash drive so that I can boot into macOS, but I'd like to use my old installation instead of a fresh install, since it has all of my files and projects on it from my Macbook. Is this possible?
System Specs (If needed):
- Intel Core i5 7400
- NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti
- Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3168 (Network card, don't know if there will be any compatibility issues)
- Motherboard is a stock HP board, I can get the model number if needed
- Realtek Soundcard, as well as the NVIDIA audio from the graphics card
The drive with macOS installed is a WD Blue 2.5" SSD, and has two partitions, one with Mojave, and one with High Sierra, both formatted in APFS.
The original hard drive that I pulled from the Macbook when I did the SSD upgrade still has macOS installed on it, so I tried booting off of that in cl0ver, but it just hangs on the apple logo. I've tried booting with verbose mode enabled, but to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to get back up and running, because I feel the 1050 will help out a lot in Final Cut, as far as video rendering times go. Plus, who doesn't want to have a hackintosh?
