Hello, How would I go about an update on a vanilla hackintosh?

I currently have a working vanilla hackintosh on Mojave 10.14.2 and would like to update it to the latest firmware. Do I just initiate the update through the System preferences and go about it like a regular Mac? Or are their other steps that I need to be aware of. Thanks.
