Installer doesn't see SSD

So I'm looking at upgrading my older, legacy BIOS i7-2600k/ga-z68xp-ud3 hackintosh from Sierra to High Sierra, however, I've hit a snag - booting to a USB installer doesn't show the main boot drive (an SSD) as a potential install location. The drive itself shows via Disk Utility, but as an unknown partition type.

I've tried disconnecting my other HD (which shows up fine, incidentally), as well as swapping around the SATA port, but no luck. I also tried an install directly from Sierra, but I get the 'still waiting for root device' error on reboot.

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks!
