Does patching DSDT/SSDT really matter?

I followed a vanilla hackintosh guide and was able to successfully install macOS on my desktop.

Everything seems to be working fine, but I've been seeing things about patching DSDT/SSDT on Reddit and other places, is this really necessary if everything seems to be working fine? Does it bring any performance benefits?
