Hi,
I'm trying to install macOS Catalina on my Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen 3. I'm using this guide for OpenCore and using this EFI folder, which was created for the exact same laptop.
I've created the installation USB on another macOS computer using the following process:
-
using Disk Utility format the whole USB to
macOS Extended (journaled)filesystem and rename it toMyVolume -
create macOS Catalina image by running the following command in the macOS terminal
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume
-
opened Clover Configurator, entered
mount EFIsection and pressedmount EFIon my USB -
this created a small partition on my USB called
EFIwhich had a sample EFI folder in it, I deleted that folder and replaced it with the folder from this guide -
using Finder I safely ejected my USB
Then I tried booting with it. And I got the following error. As you can see there are some errors prior to booting OpenCore and then when I'm booted into OpenCore, the only boot option is, as you can see from the video, is
Reset NVRAM.
What am I doing wrong here?
thanks in advance
