Hey everyone. I know a lot of HEDT users here have the Asus X299 Sage/10g. I am struggling to find a decent front panel for it, as it only has ONE internal USB 3.0 header (supports two ports) and ONE internal USB 3.1 header (supports one port), and NO USB 2.0 headers.
For bluetooth, I need one USB 2.0 port internally. So I have my USB 3.0 header converting to a 2.0 header to support bluetooth. My USB 3.1 header is connected to one port.
This is not ideal. I really want to have at least one functional USB 3.0 port in the front. I would also love something that supports audio out.
I have a 5.25" bay open.
Anyone have any ideas? Can I split my 3.0 internal port to a 3.0 port and a 2.0 port? I tried using a 19-pin USB 3.0 splitter, into 2 "A" female ports, and converting one of those to 2 (works,) and the converting the OTHER one back into a 19 pin, and then connecting the case's front panel connector, but neither case port works. Why?
Ideally I would like a 5.25" hub that will split my internal USB 3.1 A-key header into several USB 3.0 ports, or one USB 3.0 port and one USB 3.1 port or something of that nature.
Can't find anything useful on Newegg or Amazon. Please help with any suggestions!
