How to access shell in opencore system

I am inexperienced with opencore - I have a working system with catalina but I need to access shell to use bcfg to remove multiple boot entries in the UEFI. How can I make this option visible on startup (alongside the other boot options from opencore)?. I tried using an old clover EFI but only the cursor was visible in shell. Thx!
