Acer Nitro N50-610
Wifi + bluetooth works wellSound doesn't work, but I use cheap usb sound card to fix it. There is a small problem with USB 3 ports doesn't recognise any usb 2 devices (for keyboards, mouse and flash disk), so they need to be put in the usb 2 port with usb 2 hub (usb 3 hub doesn't work). However the usb 3 ports still recognise the usb 3 external drive. At the moment I'm quite happy and enough for me to use it for daily work, mainly for coding xcode and android studio. How do I do this: First I build my own EFI files using dortania documentation, but always stuck in certain issue. So I grabbed some random EFI files from github for H470 chipset. Tried some of them and found one that allow me to get into the installer. There are some issues because of the config file but I fixed it by following dortania guide for comet lake. Installed catalina first, then upgrade to big sur directly from catalina. Maybe installing big sur directly works well as well but I'm too lazy to redo everything again. Bios setting: Need to turn off any intel harddisk management otherwise the internal harddisk (and nvme) won''t be detected by installer. I'm not sure which one of it, just find any intel related hard disk management in the bios setting. Another thing need to mention is that I prepared one flash disk for opencore EFI and an external harddisk for the installer. As for the installer, I use my other hackintosh to make bootable catalina installer in one of partition in my external harddisk. Put the external harddisk in usb 3 port. I believe you can still put the installer in the flash disk but maybe it will slow down the installation because of usb 2 slow speed. [link] [comments] |
