Hey guys,
the time has finally come that I am in need to upgrade my PC as I am running an old Xeon x5675 CPU with an X58 chipset mobo. It's at least a decade old and I feel the need to finally upgrade my system.
Now if I am already in the market for new components I thought to myself that I could at least try to buy the new parts with Hackintosh compatibility in mind.
So after research, I found the best performance for price CPU would be the Intel i5 11400 or the older model I5 10400 CPU. As for a motherboard, I think the best compatibility would be the Z490 Boards am I right?
I am currently using a gtx 1060 GPU in my build. From what I could gather this would only support high sierra. So I was planning to use the integrated GPU of the CPUs (so no i5 f model). The question would now be. How well does Hackintosh work on the I5 10400 with integrated GPU? Does the new I5 11400 have support right now or is it a matter of time?
If you were in my shoes which would you buy?
