Hello! Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but I couldn't find an answer.
I think I am pretty damn close to installing Big Sur on my desktop, but the problem is that the only source of internet is through my USB WiFi (not WiFi card). I am currently using NETGEAR A7000.
When I boot with my macOS USB, it properly displays all the options, such as reinstall Big Sur, Disk Utility, etc. I have correctly formatted my drive, so all there is left for me to do is installing it. But, when I do click "reinstall Big Sur", it stops me from installing it with the message that goes something like "you need internet connection to install".
So, my question is,
is it possible to install Big Sur with USB WiFi?
if so, do I need some kind of kext?
it not, am I just out of luck and need to buy ethernet cable?
I am trying this with the latest version of OpenCore, and below is my spec.
| CPU | AMD RYZEN 5 3600X 6-Core 3.8 GHz |
|---|---|
| Graphic card | MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT |
| Motherboard | ASUS Prime X570-P Ryzen 3 AM4 |
| WiFi | NETGEAR A7000 |
Thanks!
