I have a Mac Pro 3,1 and I've installed Sonoma with a Kepler GPU and it works great.
I bought a RX 580 and tried to upgrade (by removing post install hacks, updating OpenCore for GOP AMD drivers and booting Sonoma). It displays a boot screen, launches Sonoma and then..... half way through the boot, the screen goes black with the RX580. No big deal, I figured I'd start fresh.
I then tried to install macOS fresh on a different SSD. I made an installer on my M1 Max for my 3,1 and it booted, displayed the boot screen, launched the installer, began installing but at the point of reboot, I don't see my HDD to continue the install. In fact, I don't see my old OpenCore SSD that contains my previously working Sonoma install either.
I tried created the OpenCore installer on my M1 Max and my Mac Pro 3,1. Tried Monterey and Sonoma. I can always get it to boot to the OpenCore EFI and see my installer, and run it. However, when I get to the part where it has to reboot several times off the SSD to complete the install.... I get chucked back to the USB installer as it can't see my incomplete Monterey or Sonoma install. Anyone got any suggestions?
TLDR: Sonoma and Monterey start installing fine. Cannot get the installer to continue past first reboot with RX580 in cMP 3,1.
