Asking for suggestions for alternative way of getting notified for updates when all updates options are turned off.

I am running M1 machine and want to stay on Ventura as long as apple will provide security updates. Recently, I read an issue of any interactions with upgrade notification ended up auto upgrading the system for many people. In order to avoid that, I followed this tutorial. Now I am looking for an easy way to get notified about the security updates, minor fixes for the OS. Although I found this mailing list, but I was curious to know how do you guys get notified in similar scenarios?
