Successful Sonoma 14.4 installation on an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Mini (65W model). This is honestly one of the most painless Hackintosh experiences I've had, since basically everything works right out of the box, which is not the case for a lot of machines I've previously hackintoshed (or attempted to hackintosh).
Specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-7700
- GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 630
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
- Storage: 512GB Micron 2400 NVMe SSD (replaced original 256GB Samsung PM991a, because I wanted more storage and this is simply what I had lying around).
- LAN: Intel I219-LM (1Gb ethernet)
- Wireless: Intel AX210 (Wi-Fi 6E / BT 5.3) (replaced original Intel AC-8265 since I am primarily using Wi-Fi on this PC and had this newer card lying around). Sound: Conexant CX20632 (alcid=20).
- Monitor: A generic 32-inch 4K 3840x2160 monitor (also supports 144Hz refresh rate, but this PC only has DP1.2 output, so the maximum is 60Hz). BIOS: 02.49 (Latest).
Working:
- GPU acceleration (512MB VRAM allocated from BIOS and no framebuffer patching needed).
- 4K resolution (on a similar computer to this, a Dell OptiPlex 3050 Micro, I posted here about an issue with it not displaying in 4K. This issue is non-existant on this HP machine and it displays in the correct resolution by default).
- Onboard audio (internal speaker + 3.5mm ports) + GPU/display audio. Everything just worked right out of the box here, unlike the OptiPlex where neither the onboard nor the display audio would work.
- Ethernet.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (no AirDrop to the Intel card, but I do not use an iPhone, so this feature is unnecessary for me anyway. It should also be noted that for 14.4, the latest alpha version of AirportItwlm has to be used, otherwise boot failures occur).
- All USB ports including the type-C port on the front.
- Apple ID and iServices.
- GUI menu on OpenCore (boot chime not attempted since I don't care for sounds on startup anyway).
- More things I may be forgetting, feel free to ask in a comment.
Not working:
- Sleep (no display after waking from sleep - but this is unimportant to be as I only use sleep on laptops and never use it on desktops).
- Again, more things I may not have tested. Particularly features that are used by Apple ecosystem users, because as previously mentioned, I don't currently own iPhones/iPads, nor use many Apple services).
SMBIOS: Macmini8,1 (for some reason, despite being a desktop platform and not a mobile platform, iMac18,1 as suggested by the Dortania guide does not boot at all, I have no idea why. But Macmini8,1 works, so I'll stick with this).
SSDTs: SSDT-EC-USBX-DESKTOP and SSDT-PLUG-DRTNIA.
Kexts: AirportItwlm, AppleALC, BlueToolFixup, IntelBluetoothFirmware, IntelBTPatcher, IntelMausi, Lilu, NVMeFix, RestrictEvents, SMCProcessor, SMCSuperIO, USBToolBox, UTBMap, VirtualSMC, WhateverGreen, XHCI-unsupported.
