Hackintosh installation - does the drive need to be clean?

Hello,

I once previously had success with the OpenCore method of craeting a hackintosh - the drive was clear of Windows and no partitions. Now, however, I am trying a similar installation but this time Windows currently resides on disk. I must have created this EFI folder and all ACPI aml files a few times here and it still will not boot. Just wondering if I have to go into windows and create some free space and a blank partition.
