My laptop currently runs an ALC3236 and I have tried all the possible layouts to no avail. The issue is not with the speaker as I've tried it with wired headphones and the issue still persists...
I saw another post where someone swapped VirtualSMC to fakeSMC and claimed it fixed it but when I tried it didn't work.
If I set the volume a little lower the cracking is hard to hear but at higher volumes it cracks a lot. It only cracks up when something is too loud.

- Intel HD 4400
- Realtek ALC3236
