80-85 C on a late 2012 MacBook Pro with Sequoia, is this normal?

Of course, with a 13-year-old the thermal paste is most likely dry, crack, and inefficient.

I wanted to make sure that I started on my project, since my 13-year-old laptop is running the latest OS, could I expect that some heating is due from it running the latest OS?

My idle CPU is around 10%. It is running well and have no issues besides the heat.

I should have added: I have dusted the vent in the back as well as the fan inside.
