Hi everyone,
I’m having persistent kernel panics on my MacBook Pro 15” 2017 (A1707) and I’m hoping for some advice.
The issue started right after I updated from macOS Sequoia 15.5 to 15.6 through Apple’s official software update. Before that, I was running Sequoia 15.5 with OpenCore and never had this problem. In 15.5, System Information only showed the integrated Intel HD 630 GPU, and the system was perfectly stable.
After updating to 15.6, I started seeing the AMD Radeon Pro 555 listed alongside the Intel driver in System Information, and that’s when the kernel panics began — usually when watching videos (e.g., YouTube). I also applied the OpenCore root patches after the update, but the issue persisted.
I decided to roll back to macOS Ventura using Apple’s internet recovery, but the problem still remains.
Symptoms: • When the panic happens, the fans instantly spin up to max speed • Panic logs often reference kernel_task and AMD Radeon Pro 555 drivers • If I stick to the integrated Intel HD 630 GPU only, the system is stable but still freezes out.
Has anyone experienced similar related panics?
Thanks in advance for any help!
