2012 Mac Pro with Monterey via OCLP having graphics card issues

My 2012 Mac Pro (single Xeon quad core version) has been running great with OCLP (v2.3.2) and MacOS Monterey (v12.7.4). I recently swapped the original graphics card for a Radeon R9 280X (specifically this model), which, from what I've read, should work fine, but I've been having some issues. The computer is usable, but graphics are pretty choppy, and the GPU is listed in the system information panel, but it displays it as having 10mb of vram (the card should have 3gb). The graphics card should be getting enough power, since I've got both the 6-pin and 8-pin power ports plugged in. Has anybody seen similar issues? I can't quite figure out if this is an issue with the card itself, OCLP, or whether it's something else. I don't think it's the Mac hardware itself, as everything runs as expected with the original GPU. Any help appreciated :)
