I'm a little late to the game, but I finally updated to Sonoma this week with a fresh install on my M.2 drive. Everything seems to be working great.
Today (after a disk clone) I enabled my Windows 10 SSD and booted into Windows. Good. Nothing broke.
The issue is now, I have to update to Windows 11, but I'm leery about which method to use and what steps to take.
Normally, I would just disconnect all my drives, update and then plug everything back in. In this case however with the M.2 I can't actually disable the drive in the BIOS and removing it physically would be a pain since it is under the GPU.
I have two options. Enable TMP 2.0 and update, or use the method to skip and install Windows 11 the alternate way.
My question is what are some potential issues with this update?
Will I run into any issues if I enable TPM 2.0 and leave it on (or turn it off?).
Do I risk screwing up my OC boot and not being able to boot in the macOS?
What steps should I take to assure nothing is messed up?
I'm super nervous. Even though I've cloned the macOS drive, I would rather just have it go smoothly, but I'm looking for advice for what you guys have done to assure nothing screws up.
Thanks so much!
