So, after working on this for two day, I finally got my mackintosh up and running flawlessly. My specs are:
- CPU: Intel Core i7 6700
- GPU: Powercolor RX 480 Red Devil 8GB
- MOBO: ASUS H110M Plus
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
Kexts I needed:
- Multibeast: Audio: ALC887/888b, USB: Third Party USB & Increase Max Port Limit
- Lilu.kext
- WhateverGreen.kext
- AppleALC.kext
Looking back, the installation was fairly easy, but having little to no experience with Hackintoshes or Macs in general turned it into a f*cking nightmare. First, I needed to create the Boot-USB with Unibeast, which was a chore in itself: I borrowed a Mac from a friend and downloaded High Sierra, then Unibeast and tried to use it, but ran into an error regarding the "apfs.efi". After googling I found the solution (specific CLI formatting of the flash drive), but at that point my friend needed his Mac back, so I had to download a VM. Then, after probably a hundred attempts at installing MacOS, I finally figured out what to do:
First, I nuked my complete SSD using GParted Live because the Windows Recovery menu kept booting during the installation process (I had Windows installed before), so that had to go away. Afterwards I had a lot of problems getting it to boot, because my Monitor kept shutting down during the boot process, but disconnecting my GPU and starting with the iGPU of the Mobo let me finish the installation process. I installed all of the necessary kexts (I thought) using Multibeast, but the way it installed the Clover bootloader didn't result in macOS booting properly. After trying a lot, I just copied the whole EFI partition from my USB Stick to my SSD, which made it work. The rest was fairly simple, install Lilu.kext, WhateverGreen.kext and AppleALC.kext to /Library/Extensions/ (because through Clover it didn't want to work), I got my GPU and sound working and can now finally go to sleep.
I don't even know whether somebody is even interested in this or if this is basic, but I'm really happy and want to have this written down somewhere in case I need it someday. All-in-all, I would say this setup is a great start for beginners like me. In hindsight, I could have done a lot better (f.e. using Clover Configurator), but for now, I'm not going to touch anything.
