Installing Mojave on Virtualbox on Mac Host

I have a 2014 Mac mini. It's an i5 with 8gb ram, and a 500gb SSD. It's running 10.14.2. I'm using a ~2010 wired Apple Keyboard and magic mouse. I'm trying to install Mojave on a virtualbox 6.0 vm. I was able to install virtual box, download Mojave, and create a .iso file from the Mojave installer. I set the VM to use 2 cores, 4gb ram, maxed out the video memory, and enabled 3d acceleration. When I boot the VM from the .iso, I get to the language selection screen, and that's as far as I can get. I click in the window, get the "input capture" warning message, click ok, and then I can't control the VM at all. It doesn't respond to mouse our keyboard input. The Virtualbox logs do not seem to indicate anything relevant to me.

I haven't had much luck googling for this situation. I figured hackintosh folks may have some ideas. Any suggestions?
