How to download Mac OS X versions directly from Apple store? If I purchase Snow Leopard DVD from Apple store, will I be able to do that?

Every article says If I "purchased" the OS, I will be able to download them under the "purchased" section. My Apple ID is new and I cannot find anything under the purchased section. I just need to make USB installation media for all OS X versions above Snow Leopard.
