updating for better coffee lake support

Hey guys,

So my work computer is a hackintosh, High Sierra 10.13.6 17G65. Pretty standard build. I thought I was up to date but I was having problems with random freezes (often associated with rendering/exporting in adobe or resolve). For the most part I've stabilized the system but I'm still experiencing 1-4 freezes a day (down from, like, 15/day).

I read in this tonymac post that 17G2112 might be better for coffeelake support even though it's for a specialized 2018 mac pro release? I'd love to run the update but I'm having trouble finding walk-thru's that can guarantee success if I just use the app-store standard updater. Does anyone know of a guide for running the update to 17G2112? Has anyone done it successfully and do you think that will save my freeze woes?

(Here's the weird thing. My home Hack -which I built myself- is on all supported hardware, a GTX 780 and a gigabyte z370p D3 mobo, and it works fine, more stable than a real mac)

Coffee Lake i7-8700K 4.7GHz

Geforce GTX 1070

G.Skill DDR4 32Gb 3200MHz

Gigabyte z370 Aorus Gaming Wifi

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB
