Apple has dropped the price of its HomePod smart speaker to $299 from $349.While offering excellent sound, HomePod has struggled to compete with smart speaker offerings from Amazon, Google, and Sonos. The latest report from Strategy Analytics estimates HomePod market share for Q4 2018 at just 4.1%, down from 4.9% in Q3 2018.
During the holidays, the price of the HomePod dropped as low as $249 and Best Buy currently has the speaker on sale for $279.
