I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 (i7 6700HQ) getting stuck on an error and the only way for it to work is if I format the hard drive to a mac friendly format, but in all the guides I've seen they always format it as mac os extended (journaled). Now I can't take the hard drive out of the machine as it is still under warranty and can't be opened to format the hard drive on mac. So, I was wondering if I could make a Linux install USB and format the hard drive as exFAT maybe ( because it is mac friendly) it would work, or is that format too old?
I am looking to install High Sierra, but mac os sierra and El Capitan are options if high sierra is too fussy
Here are my specs:
Intel i7-6700HQ with IGPU Intel HD 530
8GB DDR3L (dual channel)
1TB HDD (Windows drive)
15,6” IPS 1920x1080 (no touchscreen)
BCM94352Z
Nvidia GTX 960M 4GB (will be disabled in OS X)
Realtek ALC256
I've been banging my head against the wall for weeks
on this error:
waiting on <dlct ID="0"><key>IOProviderClass</key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media<\string></dict>
I've done some research and it looks like my last option is to format the hard drive as Mac OS extended journaled, but as I've already stated I can't remove the hard drive
Any help would be more than greatly appreciated, Thank you.
