Do I switch from a GTX1080 to a 5700XT?

I built my Hackintosh in 2015 - it's a Skylake Z170X platform. Great daily driver, use for Programming, Audio Production & Video Editing amongst other things... it's got an Nvidia GTX 1080 in it currently.

As has been discussed for some years since 10.14 due to the childish ongoing driver feud between Apple and Nvidia, there have been no more web drivers for v14/15 which leads me to think this is going to be a no-go for future updates.

I'm irritated because whilst it's a very capable card, I need v10.14 minimum now to run the latest version of Xcode so I can write software that is able to use current APIs.

The best current/next generation of supported AMD GPUs seems to be the 5700XT. Is that right?

Looking for something as relatively plug-and-play as possible, but would it be a good move for me to sell my 1080 and replace it with a 5700XT? Thanks.
