I found a great deal on an old i7 and asrock h87m mobo. My theoretical build is here:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770S 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i 33.84 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: ASRock H87M Pro4/ASM Micro ATX LGA1150
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 570 4 GB PULSE Video Card
Case: Thermaltake Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze
I've built one vanilla hackintosh with a gigabyte board, which I didnt run into any serious problems and the price on the mobo/cpu combo is pretty good compared to ebay ($150), figure I can build this fella for under $500.
Has anyone had success with this motherboard? Anything I should look out for in terms of asrock vs gigabyte? All help appreciated because I'm ready to jump on it but dont want to impulse buy if it's not going to work
I googled like crazy and only found a few posts with successes with not much detail. Also one post about flashing the bios to a version unavailable on the asrock site.
