Short blurb the setup:
I've got a fully working Latitude E7470 on Catalina 10.15.4 with Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, all 3 USB ports, but not the touch screen or WWAN card.
I've been experimenting with two different WWAN cards: a Dell DW5811E (Sierra Wireless EM7455) and a Dell DW5809e (Sierra Wireless EM7305) but neither seem to fully work with Mac OS right now.
While I've had no luck getting Mac OS to even pickup the DW5809E in System Report, I have managed to get some success with the DW5811E which now both shows up as a USB device and under WWAN.
The problem I'm currently having is that the modem software shows up as "Unknown" in the WWAN info section, and doesn't show up in the Network PrefPane.
To get here, I've modified the CellPhoneHelper.kext to reflect what I /think/ are the required variables to get the DW5811E to show up (which it did) and also changed the USBCOMP mode of the modem to 6 (from 8) which didn't seem to make a difference.
If anyone has any pointers for me to try and figure this out, that'd be amazing. All of the posts I've found seem to be for older version of Mac OS that have helped me get to this stage but haven't got it working. I've also checked and made sure it works in Windows and Linux, so the modem itself isn't broken.
