My understanding for patching and connector types is limited so do correct me if I'm wrong, As mentioned in the Guide-Patching Connector Types, since I'm using an HDMI connection on my laptop, the connector type in IOREG should show <00 08 00 00> HDMI considering patching under Device Properties in Config.plist is correct. The reason I'm trying to correct this is because I use my laptop mostly in clamshell mode through a 24" LG IPS Monitor - the monitor had an Aux out which connects to my 2.1 stereo out system for audio. So if the HDMI cable is connected prior booting up then System Preferences>Sound>Output is as below, However, say if I remove the HDMI Cable and then plug it in again, HDMI video is functional but under System Preferences>Sound>Output I only get my laptop speakers I read various guides and I understand it is how the connector types are indicated that makes the HDMI functional. Here's the Config.plist>Device Properties that I'm presently using for igpu Intel HD 4600 Graphics. As above,I've mentioned conX-type as <00080000> for all con1,2, & 3. My IOREG for IGPU@2 is as below, shows conX-types <00080000> as mentioned in Config.plist IOREG for Apple IntelFramebuffer@0 IOREG for Apple IntelFramebuffer@1 IOREG for Apple IntelFramebuffer@2 The Connecter-Type shown is <00040000> How do I change this above connecter type to <00080000> to make it as an HDMI port and not DP port. Read through u/corpnewt post which also indicated the same necessary changes - Hackintosh Vanilla Guide. Thanks folks. [link] [comments] |
