Specs:
MSI Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi (LAN: Realtek 8125, Audio: Realtek 1220 - alcid=11)
i9 - 10850k (currently overclocked to 4.9Ghz - still waiting to get a stronger cooler)
2 x 16GB 3600MHz Ram
Radeon HD 7790
Fenvi T919 - BCM 94360
AX201 (Disabled)
Why:
Programming
Increased quality of life over windows (both 10 and 11)
Methodology:
Trying again multiple times without changing anything really
Notes:
- Opencore guide says to disable "CSM" and enable "UEFI". I could not do it because my GPU is not UEFI compatible. Hence, I removed my GPU to disable CSM. Installed macOS. Shut the system down and reinserted GPU and booted in CSM mode. It didn't work at first. But I changed my layout-id back and forth and it suddenly worked (refer to methodology)
- Fenvi T919. Should have supposedly worked out of the box. It didn't (well partially, I had bluetooth but no wifi) . removed it and tried different slots (I had 2 other slots to try because my motherboard is ATX). neither of the other slots worked. Installed it back into the original slot. it suddenly worked. wow.
Issues:
Weird graphical artefacts (in second picture)
What works:
Wifi, Ethernet, Audio, Airdrop
What doesn't work:
Not sure yet
