Troubleshooting sound issues with Ryzen 5600 Hackintosh

So last year I built a hackintosh for my brother, based on the Casper Hackintosh build that he'd seen on youtube (he really dug the idea of a small compact ITX build that he figured he could fit into his Pelican an move with instead of carrying a Macbook Air... but I digress). Hardware went fine, although he ended up using an EFI he got from Technolli because he was frustrated at how I'd spent something like 6 hours to build the PC and 4 days trying to build my own EFI and do the config.plist and get it working.

(I know, I know, Technolli bad. It's not my machine, folks, and it wasn't my idea to use Technolli.)

He told me a couple of days ago that for the last several months now, he's been having audio issues on the hackintosh, where the sound, which used to be crisp and clear, is now coming out garbled. Since I'm the guy who built it for him, I'm now the guy who has to unfuck it for him. Such is my life as the designated IT guy of the family, smh.

I'm wondering whether this might be a conflict issue somewhere, because he was running with a Ryzen 3600 with no problems, and as best as I've worked out the timing, his problems started around the time where he had me upgrade him to a Ryzen 5 5600X. He thinks this happened after he installed the drivers for his Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 audio interface, but I'm doubtful that's the case, since the problem is there whether the drivers are installed or not.

...I'm probably going to have to build a new EFI all over again, aren't I? Dropping in updated AppleALU kext into the EFI folder hasn't resolved the problem.

It's currently a Ryzen 5600x on a Gigabyte Aorus Pro Wifi X570 board.
