Is it a good idea to boot just to test if it works? (I can't install rn)

I finally finished my bootable USB. Everything hopefully is done. But there's a small issue... I don't have where to install it yet. I have a SATA SSD with 480GB and sadly I will still need Microsoft's monopoly OS even if the Hackintosh is successful. But in the meantime, I wanted to see if booting issues could be troubleshoot without installing it. I.e. something like booting the installer, checking if everything works, and then return to Windows. This is my very first Hack, and even though I read the guide, it doesn't mention a safe way of getting out of the installer.
