Updating a MacBook Air 2014 running High Sierra 10.13.6

(Complete PC novice here, so apologies in advance for any stupid questions)

As titled, I want to update my Mac using OCLP. I’ve found a couple of YT tutorials and the process itself seem easy enough, but I do have some concerns.

  1. Is there any risk I’ll lose all my data doing this? Videos, pictures, mp3s, notes, passwords, apps etc?

  2. I have a lot of bookmarks saved on the Chrome browser, could they get wiped out too with an update?

  3. What macOS should I download? Can I jump directly from High Sierra to Sequoia, or should I get an ’intermediate’ version first?

My specs are as follows:

Model name: MacBook Air

Model identifier: MacBookAir6,2

Processor name: Intel Core i5

Processor speed: 1.4 GHz

Number of processors: 1

Total number of cores: 2

L2 cache (per core): 256 K

L3 cache: 3 MB

Memory: 8 GB

Boot ROM version: MBA61.0107.B00
