Ethernet interface (USB or Thunderbolt based) - a must f/Sequoia 15.x (3?!?) w/OCLP 2.2.0, on MBP Retina 15in mid-2015?

Is (an) Ethernet interface (using USB or Thunderbolt, of course) a must, before attempting to install Sequoia 15.x (- not sure if .3 is recommended at this stage?!?) on a MBP Retina 15in mid-2015? The MBP obviously doesn't have built-in Eth iface, and I am not sure if the process of installation, via OCLP, mandates such available, and if acquiring an USB or Thunderbolt based one even works (i.e. unsure if USB / Thunderbolt would function, in the/a first stage of install, for Eth to be useable).
