I recently downloaded OCLP and installed Sonoma on an Early 2015 MacBook Pro. It was working fine for about a week until today.
Today, I opened it up to it dead, I didn’t have it on charge over night but it wasn’t remotely close to low battery when I went to sleep last night. I put in my password, and everything seemed astronomically slow and the menu bar and dock were black, as if I had turned on reduce transparency. It was getting hot like no other. I restarted it several times to no changes. Attempted to root patch, but said “failed sanity checks, cannot continue with patching,” and then revert the root patch just to see if getting rid of it would do anything, but it said the same thing. I eventually got frustrated and just let it still for a bit. Came back to it dead, again, even after I had charged it to about 70% while trying troubleshoot earlier, and the entire machine was really warm. I have literally no clue what to do other than try to boot a Monterey install to get it back to software it can handle, but I’m not even sure if that would work because I attempted a fresh install of Sonoma again, held option, opened boot picker, clicked the drive the installer was on and it would not go, gave me an Apple Support URL. No clue what to do, help!
