Was previously running Ventura perfectly and later Sonoma with 1 or 2 issues.

Later tried Sequoia with OCLP 2.1.2 and I was able to install, but had a lot of iCloud-related issues with Messages, FaceTime, Home, Find My, Maps, Apple Pay/Wallet, etc., so reverted to Sonoma.

With the release of OCLP 2.2.0 I gave Sequoia a 2nd chance and it has been good overall, specially with the fixes to most of iCloud-related and T1 apps and services.

Here are my findings after using Sequoia the last 2 months compared with Ventura as the last macOS supported officially by this model:

  1. Sleep/Wake: After the MacBook has been on sleep on battery for a certain amount of time (haven't pinpointed the exact amount yet) the laptop decides to shutdown. It happens in Sonoma and Sequoia. Doesn't happen if the MacBook is on sleep and plugged in

  2. Wi-Fi: After the MacBook has been on sleep (on battery or plugged in and hasn't shutdown (see finding number 1)) for a certain amount of time, it's not consistent in reconnecting to Wi-Fi. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. For the times that it doesn't, my workarounds have been between clicking on the Wi-Fi menu bar icon and selecting my network or, when this doesn't work, I have to resort to turning of Wi-Fi and back on. Then it reconnects. This also happens in Sonoma

  3. FaceTime: Unable to make or receive calls. It starts connecting and quickly throws a "Failed to connect"error message. My current workaround is to start the FaceTime call on another device like an iPad or iPhone and then switch the call to the MacBook if I want to free up that device. Usually the switch works on the first attempt, but there have been times that I have had to try 2 or 3 times for the FaceTime call to switch. It happens when using the internal FaceTime HD camera and mic or using Continuity Camera with an iPhone. FaceTime in Sonoma works as expected

  4. Home: If you happen to have more that one home created inside the Home App, the first home in alphabetical order works as expected, but any other homes besides that first one show all their devices as "No Response" and you can't control any of them nor run any scenes. It reminds me of when I tried Sequoia with OCLP 2.1.2 and in the Find My App the first (and maybe the second) person in the People tab my show their location, but the rest won't. Same happened in the Devices tab in which Wi-Fi-enabled might show their location, but Bluetooth one didn't and in the Items tab no AirTags would show location. The problem in the Home App seems similar to what the Find My App used to have, so maybe a future OCLP might fix for multiple homes. Home works as expected in Sonoma

As I was unable to find any posts related to this MacBook model and the experience of running Sequoia on it, decided to make this post so that anyone looking for information to make the decision to try it or not can at least read about my experience and find it helpful.
