I recently installed Sonoma on a 2012 MBP and everything went very well. Today I attempted to install it on a 2015 iMac with 4 Ghz and 32 Gb RAM. I built the installer again on the host machine but I want to install the OS onto an external NVMe SSD drive.
Booting with the same flash drive I used on the MBP, the installation begins but hangs on the first stage at 19 minutes remaining. It hasn't even restarted yet. After an hour I shut it down and restarted the installation but again it stops with exactly 19 minutes remaining. What is it doing?
