DDR4 Speed on Hack- noticeable difference?

Hey all looking at building a 2nd Hackintosh, and looking at x99.

Is there a noticeable difference (does macOS see it?) between using DDR4-2400 and say DDR4-3200, assuming the MB supports it?

At a ~90$ price difference per set (2x16G) between 2400 and 3200, wondering if I would see the speed increase in a hack build. Is the CAS latency a larger factor? Would it make more sense to buy the cheaper/slower and just buy more?

Used mostly for video editing and transcoding.
