Trying to restore from time machine backup.

Hey,

So I've successfully installed El Capitan on my customac (Z97 Asus A, Intel i7 4970k, Nvidia geforce GTX 960) using unibeast with this guide (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/unibeast-install-os-x-el-capitan-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.172672/#alt_post_install). Now I wanted to restore certain settings, apps and files using my time machine backup. I used the "Boot Recovery from Recovery HD" on the thumb drive used to install El Capitan, then restored from a previous backup. When I go and try to boot from the ssd, the apple logo comes up... then it shows the slashed circle. The same thing goes for when I try booting from the thumb drive. What did I do wrong?
